Culinary Lifeskills Project

The Culinary Life Skills Project empowers hearing-disabled students aged 10-14 at the Quang Tri Special Education School (QTSES) by teaching essential cooking, kitchen safety, and gardening skills to foster self-sufficiency and enhance their ability to care for themselves and their families.
WHAT
The Culinary Life Skills Project teaches essential cooking, kitchen safety, and gardening skills to students aged 10-14 at the Quang Tri Special Education School, fostering self-sufficiency and improving their ability to care for themselves and their families.
WHO
This project serves
50 students aged
10-14 at the Quang Tri Special Education School, facilitated by the Community Development Fund (CDF), a Vietnamese non-profit organization with nearly two decades working with hearing impaired
youth.
WHY
The project equips children with vital life skills, promoting self-sufficiency, personal well-being, and community involvement. It aims to create a replicable model for culinary life skills education across Vietnam, addressing gaps in local education for disabled children.
HOW
We make it happen by working closely with local teachers, and education authorities to ensure the program meets real needs. The curriculum was co-developed through field assessments and is now officially integrated into the government’s education framework.
